We dressed the entire Nordics in a new name — twice

When HBO Nordic became HBO Max — and later Max — we handled all display and DOOH production for every screen in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. Two complete Nordic rebrandings, 450+ versions across DOOH, video banners and HTML5, four countries and one tight production system that kept it all running.

— The challenge

Changing a name is one thing. Changing the name on every digital large-format screen and display banner across the entire Nordics — twice — is something else entirely. When HBO Nordic first became HBO Max and then rebranded again to Max, we faced a massive production challenge: hundreds of unique formats across DOOH screens, video banners and HTML5 banners spread across four countries, with individual technical specs from media owners and agencies in each market, approval flows going both directly to Max and out to agencies in each country, and deadlines dictated by a global launch plan that could not be moved.

— The solution

We managed the full display and DOOH production for both rebrandings end-to-end — including animated video banners, HTML5 banners and large-format assets. All animation was produced in Adobe After Effects, where we used ExtendScript scripting to build intelligent templates that automatically generated versions across formats — Pre, Post and other variants — significantly reducing manual production time across more than 200 unique screen and banner formats per rebranding. To simplify the approval process, we produced compositing demo videos showing the finished animated material in the precise environment where each screen is located — so Max and the agencies could see the result rather than having to imagine it. All project management ran in ClickUp via our custom production template, built specifically for complex multi-market deliveries. The template managed correction rounds, version history, country-specific specs and communication with agencies in DK, NO, SE and FI — ensuring nothing fell through the cracks across languages, time zones and approval layers.
